President Harry Massis met with businessman Diego Fernandes at Morumbis to discuss financial alternatives for the club
The president of São Paulo, Harry Massis, met on Wednesday (May 27, 2026) with the businessman to discuss attracting investors and the possible transformation of the club into SAF (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol).
During the meeting, Fernandes presented a study with proposals to structure the club in this model and asked Massis for authorization to negotiate on behalf of São Paulo with potential investors – at no cost to the club. Massis wants hear ideas that can help with São Paulo’s financial recovery and will review the request before providing a response.
On April 27, the businessman launched a petition to enable the transformation into SAF without the need for approval from the Deliberative Council. The measure requires the convening of an Extraordinary General Assembly, which can only be carried out with the participation of at least 20% of members with voting rights.
Who is Diego Fernandes
Diego Fernandes gained national recognition by participating in the articulation that took the coach to the Brazilian team. He is CEO and founder of O8 Partners, a company that operates in the financial management of athletes and maintains a partnership with C6 Bank.
Furthermore, the businessman is a patron of Masp (São Paulo Art Museum) and Pinacoteca, and a supporter of SOS Mata Atlântica. He also often frequents MorumBIS boxes alongside the club’s idols.
