Humanoid robots parade alongside models in South Korea

Galaxy Corporation event presented a collection inspired by the 1970s adapted for machines and humans

Galaxy Corporation held a fashion show featuring humanoid robots and models on Thursday (May 28, 2026) in Seoul, South Korea. The event, called “MACH33: Physical AI Fashion Show”, showcased applications of physical artificial intelligence in the fashion industry.

Each model was accompanied by a robot dressed in similar pieces. The machines also performed choreography and interacted with the public.

The collection combined futuristic elements with references to the space aesthetics of the 1970s. Among the pieces presented were silk dresses, baggy pants and costumes inspired by the glam rock look of David Bowie (1947-2016). The company created the suits and adapted them to the robots’ structures. The collection should be commercially launched in 2026 under the MACH 33 brand.

According to Galaxy Corporation, the initiative sought to explore possibilities of interaction between humans and robots and bring technology closer to everyday life through culture and entertainment.

The robots used in the parade have already demonstrated the ability to perform choreographed dances, participate in races and perform backflips. Despite advances, fully autonomous humanoids are still rare. Most of the more sophisticated demonstrations depend on prior programming or remote control.

The financial institution Morgan Stanley estimates that the world could have more than 1 billion humanoid robots in operation by 2050. South Korea has increased investments in robotics and artificial intelligence to expand the use of these technologies in different sectors of the economy.

The parade was held at Galaxy Robot Park, a complex dedicated to robot experiences in the South Korean capital. The space also hosts musical performances, performances inspired by K-pop and other attractions aimed at the public.
