Israel expands its military control in Lebanon and occupies the historic Beaufort Castle

After 26 years of fighting against Hezbollah, Israeli troops once again set foot in the strategic Beaufort Castle. The Israeli army announced this Sunday the capture of that fortress, built on a hill 900 years ago in southern Lebanon – and north of the line marked by the Litani River – as part of efforts to annul the pro-Iranian group in the northern border region with Israel. In parallel, , the largest southern city in the country, with about 200,000 residents. The campaign has caused fireballs to rise over buildings and bombardments in the vicinity of the Hiram Hospital, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, in an attack that has injured 13 doctors and left material damage in the center.
