Celebrations for the conquest of the French club resulted in episodes of turmoil and vandalism in the French capital
PSG’s Champions League campaign took thousands of the club’s fans to the streets of Paris this Saturday (May 30, 2026).
The title celebrations, however, shared space with episodes of rioting and vandalism in the French capital. By 11:30 pm (local time), 235 people had been detained, according to a report from the Ministry of the Interior published by the newspaper. Of these cases, 45 resulted in preventive arrest.
In the country as a whole, the number of arrests reached 326 during celebrations related to the final.

Approximately 20,000 fans gathered on the Champs-Élysées avenue to celebrate the achievement. In the area, 1 kiosk was set on fire and at least 6 vehicles suffered damage. A police officer was injured during the incidents.
Around the Parc des Princes stadium, around 1,000 people were contained by police shortly after the match ended, around 9pm.
REINFORCED SECURITY
Before the decision, the security scheme had already been implemented. Across France, 22,000 police officers were mobilized to watch the final, with 8,000 in Paris alone. The measure was adopted due to episodes of violence that occurred in the previous season, in 2025.
According to the The World24 flares and around 100 pyrotechnic devices were seized. After the victory over Arsenal in the penalty shootout, a bakery and a restaurant were also vandalized on the Avenue de Versailles. A bus stop was damaged on Avenue La Boétie. In total, the inspections resulted in the imposition of 89 fines.
