Premier League record player James Milner has ended his football career. The 40-year-old announced this on Instagram on Monday. The former England international most recently played for Brigthon & Hove Albion. In total, he played 658 games in England’s elite class for six different clubs over 24 years, became champions three times, cup winners twice and won the Champions League with Liverpool FC under Jürgen Klopp in 2019. “I leave the game with great pride, gratitude and memories that will stay with me throughout my life. Football has given me far more than I could have ever imagined and I will always be grateful for the opportunities it has given me,” Milner wrote.
