Sheinbaum avoids including Trump in his interventionist criticism of the United States: “I don’t think he is the one leading this offensive”

President Claudia Sheinbaum has made a point against foreign interference, stating that she does not believe that it is the president of the United States, Donald Trump, who is leading the attempt to influence the Mexican elections of 2027. “There is a lot of dialogue with the United States Government, in fact, I confess that I do not believe that it is President Trump who has led this offensive on different issues. I believe that they are sectors of the extreme right of the United States that do not want there to be a good relationship, that they do not agree with the Government that we lead, for ideological reasons, and they join together with those of the extreme right in Mexico,” he said in his morning conference this Monday, without specifying who is part of those sectors.
