The star of the M*A*S*H series is complicated by an insidious disease: The actor’s words about the cruel diagnosis will resonate with you!

One of Alan Alda’s personality traits is to always talk about everything with insight and humor. He tried the same in the debate about his health and aging. The M*A*S*H star recently turned 90 and admitted that her life is complicated by Parkinson’s disease.

The actor celebrated his ninetieth birthday at the end of January. At the Conversation: More Rules for Aging event in New York in May, he recalled a significant milestone and shared his insights on aging and living with Parkinson’s disease.

“I was just thinking about the day I turned ninety this year. I went out to dinner with my family and the waiter brought me a cake with a candle. He started singing, ‘Happy Birthday, Old Man.’ Then I blew out the candle and they said, ‘You did it yourself. We didn’t help you.’ That’s how they let you know you’re older,Alan joked.

The actor also joked about the moment when he really realized his age. “You get a clue that you’re older when you find out you have three daughters and they’re all on Medicare. People tell you you’re older. The world tells you. I don’t count my age by the years I’ve lived. I count it by how many times a day someone asks me, ‘Can I help you?'” Aldo continued to joke.

Although he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s more than ten years ago, he maintains a positive attitude towards life. According to him, the disease is more of a “really interesting puzzle” that needs to be solved.
