Ukrainian specialists will soon arrive in Latvia, where they will share their experience in shooting down drones in the coming weeks. This was announced by the new Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs on Monday after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko. TASR writes about it according to the report of the DPA agency.

- On May 7, two drones crashed into a Latvian oil warehouse and exploded.
- Ukrainian experts will prepare a multi-level air defense system for Latvia.
Since March, several stray Ukrainian drones have already flown into the airspace of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, which border Russia and Belarus. Kiev claims that their target was military facilities in Russia, but their path was affected by Russian jammers.
Drone incidents
Some of these drones have crashed and exploded, including two that crashed into an oil storage facility in Latvia on May 7 and caused a fire. The incident caused a political crisis, as a result of which the Minister of Defense Andris Spruds resigned, followed by Prime Minister Evika Siliňová. Kulbergs was given a vote of confidence by the Lithuanian parliament only on Thursday.
Ukrainian experts will help develop a long-term plan to build a multi-level air defense system capable of responding to various types of threats, Kulbergs said. “We need to be better prepared to shoot down drones that enter Latvian airspace, and no one knows better than the Ukrainians how to shoot them down and how to detect them,” declared the new prime minister.
