Luis Díaz shines, and Colombia beats Costa Rica in a pre-World Cup friendly

With the brilliance of Luis Díaz, from Bayern Munich, the Colombia won the Costa Rica 3-1 this Monday (1st), in a friendly preparatory match for the World cup from 2026which starts next week.

Luis Díaz assisted Davinson Sánchez to open the scoring and, five minutes later, scored the Colombian’s second goal at the El Campin Stadium, in Bogotá. In the final stretch, Luis Suárez closed the account.

The match marked the farewell to the Colombian national team and had several Brasileirão players on the field: Andrés Gómez (Vasco), Carrascal (Flamengo), (Palmeiras) and Portilla (Athletico-PR).

In addition to them, other players with experience in Brazilian football were also in action, such as ex-Palmeiras Richard Ríos and Yerry Mina, ex-Bahia Santi Arias and ex-São Paulo James Rodríguez.

Before the World Cup, Colombia still faces Jordan, a World Cup debutant, next Sunday (7), in a friendly match.
