Even outside the World Cup, fans transform the Bicentenario Stadium, in La Florida, into a great meeting point for fans of the World Cup album
This Sunday (31), more than eight thousand people went to the Bicentenario Stadium, in the metropolitan region of Santiago, in Chile, to exchange stickers from the 2026 World Cup album. The event had great public support, even with Chile out of this edition’s competition. Images of the meeting drew attention on social media.
The meeting was promoted by the city council of La Florida, the city where the stadium is located. Mayor Daniel Reyes shared the international repercussion on social media and stated that the event was a success.
In an interview with the Chilean newspaper ASReyes highlighted the focus on security of the initiative: “We wanted to open the Bicentenario de La Florida Stadium, which is one of the most symbolic and football-related scenarios in our municipality, to transform it into a great safe meeting point for all those who want to live this 2026 World Cup experience”.
“It’s not every day that you have the opportunity to exchange stickers on the lawn of a professional stadium, and we believe that this is precisely what makes this activity unique and attractive for all football fans,” added the mayor.
Entrance to the stadium was free and exchanges took place between 10am and 2pm. On social media, Chileans are already asking for a new edition of the event.
