The Instituto Saber Brasil, producer of the film “”, said in its first demonstration after the Civil Police operation this Monday (1st), of which it was one of the targets, which collaborates with the investigations.
“The institute’s legal team hired expertise and specialized auditing to offer technical and legal support to the entire investigation process,” stated the entity, in a note distributed this Tuesday afternoon (2).
The Civil Police are investigating the institute on suspicion of misappropriation of resources from the City of São Paulo in a R$108 million contract signed in 2024 to provide Wi-Fi in neighborhoods in the city. The contract, according to the case investigation, has signs of overpricing and payments made without providing services.
Also according to the police, there is evidence of mixing between the accounts of the institute and the production company Go Up Entertainment, responsible for “Dark Horse”, and that city hall resources may have been used in the production of the film about ().
The note does not refute any of the suspicions raised in the police investigation. In the text, the institute states that it “received and fully complied with the court order issued by the competent authorities, collaborating in a transparent, respectful and immediate manner with all procedures carried out”.
Also according to the entity, “from the first moment, the institution made itself available to the authorities to provide documents, information and any clarifications that were considered necessary for the complete investigation of the facts.”
The text goes on to say that the contracted expertise and audit “constitute legitimate instruments for in-depth technical analyzes and for clarifying issues of public interest”.
“We reaffirm our conviction that the ongoing procedures will allow us to demonstrate the regularity of the actions carried out by the institution, as well as to demonstrate the correct application of resources and the absence of misuse of purpose in the projects carried out”, states the entity.
The production “Dark Horse” is based on the attack against former president Bolsonaro, which took place in 2018.
The website The Intercept Brasil published audios and messages that show Flávio negotiating with Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, to finance the production.
The portal revealed that for the feature film. The Federal Police are investigating whether part of the money was used for Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) in the United States.
Flávio denies that there is anything illegal in the request for help to the former banker. Eduardo denies having had access to the resources.
