Iran attacks Kuwait and Bahrain, and the US responds by bombing an Iranian island in Hormuz
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has denounced a US attack against one of its communications towers located on the island of Qeshm, in an offensive confirmed by the US Central Command (Centcom). The US military command has confirmed that it attacked this military ground control station after Iran launched ballistic missiles towards neighboring countries, including Kuwait and Bahrain, without any reaching their targets.
The IRGC, for its part, has assured that it launched missile and drone attacks against a US air base and helicopters “located in a country in the region”, as well as against the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, located in Bahrain, in response to the attack on the Qeshm communications tower.
Centcom assured in X that neither the air base nor the headquarters of its Fifth Fleet were hit. The new attacks come after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, denied on social networks that negotiations with Iran were suspended, as Iranian media had stated. (Agencies)
