A 16-year-old girl died on Wednesday night in Famões, in the municipality of Odivelas, after being attacked with an iron bar. The main suspect is the victim’s boyfriend, a 20-year-old man, who fled after the crime and was run over about an hour later.
The alert was given to the Public Security Police at around 7:10 pm, following an incident initially flagged as domestic violence on Rua Bernardo Santareno.
When they arrived at the scene, authorities found the teenager in serious condition. The young woman was treated by a team from the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle, but ended up dying on the spot due to the severity of the injuries.
After the aggression, the suspect, believed to be the victim’s boyfriend, fled to uncertain part. About an hour later, authorities said, authorities were called to a run over on IC 17, towards Odivelas-Oriente.
At the scene, the PSP found that the young man who was run over was the alleged perpetrator of the deadly attack that occurred shortly before in Famões. The suspect, who, according to , will be four years older than his girlfriend, was assisted by the Odivelas Volunteer Firefighters and transported in serious condition to the Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon.
The investigation is now under the responsibility of the Civil Police, which must investigate the circumstances of the crime and also the contours of the collision. As soon as the clinical status permits and legal conditions are met, the suspect must be detained and present at first interrogation judicial.
