The question has been debated for years, but now there is a groundbreaking ruling from the Supreme Court (OGH): EU maximum limits for Covid funding have been widely exceeded in Austria. The result: corporations will probably have to pay back millions. The reason for the current decision was the procedure surrounding a chain of rest stops (OGH April 28, 2026, 1 Ob 23/26b).
