Czech professional football player Matěj Hybš (33) is experiencing the most beautiful period of his life. He became a father of two. The proud father boasted about the happy news on social networks, where he and his wife Lucia welcomed their second child into the world. A little brother was added to the four-year-old son Eliot.
The new parents posted touching pictures straight from the birthing room and added a beautiful confession to them. “A heart that we thought was already full was able to grow again. For another endless love, for more little hands, for another reason to be grateful. Thank you, life. Welcome among us, beloved son Damián,” they shared with followers.
For the 33-year-old defender, this bundle of luck has an incalculable value. Today, he is experiencing pure family joy, but not so long ago he was fighting an insidious cancer. It all started in October 2024, when he played his then last league match. Due to serious health problems, he did not return to the field until half a year later. Doctors diagnosed him with testicular cancer.
Later, in an interview for the club’s television, the footballer described the moments when he realized that something was wrong. “It started to hurt and I felt a lot of discomfort during training, when it started to bother me when I was running, with everything. I kept waiting for the moment when it would go away, but this was a permanent condition.” he confided.
Fortunately, Matěj didn’t wait for anything then, he used the extended club leave and went to the doctor for a check-up. A rapid succession of events followed – acute surgery and several grueling rounds of chemotherapy. However, the former player of leading clubs such as Sparta, Pilsen and Bohemians and the current pillar of Mladé Boleslav had the most powerful weapons by his side the whole time. His loving wife Lucia and their older son were a huge support for him.
After a hard fight, the best news that an athlete could wish for finally arrived. He definitively won over the insidious disease. Today, Matěj is full of strength again, 100% healthy and can fully enjoy his well-deserved happiness alongside his extended family.
