The Federal Court of Auditors archived a representation sent by senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) with a request for an investigation into the relationship between a company linked to a former daughter-in-law of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and the Ministry of Education.
The Court identified that the action presented by the parliamentarian did not present sufficient evidence for the investigation to proceed.
In the representation, Flávio questioned the application and destination of federal public resources with alleged signs of undue favoritism to the company Life Tecnologia Educacional, operated by Carla Ariane Trindade.
She was married to Marcos Cláudio, son of former first lady Marisa Letícia and president Lula
The company, in turn, was the target of a Federal Police (PF) operation, called Coffee Break and carried out in November last year, which investigated suspected fraud in tenders in the interior of São Paulo.
The man identified as leader of the criminal organization would have transferred more than R$125 million in a company that won tenders to supply teaching materials and robotics kits to the city councils of Sumaré, Limeira, Morungaba and Hortolândia.

Investigators were also investigating information that Carla had allegedly been paid by the leaders of the scheme to gain influence in the Ministry of Education and act as a lobbyist in favor of Life Tecnologia. Carla’s defense and the MEC did not comment at the time.
When analyzing the representation sent by Flávio Bolsonaro on the topic, the TCU ministers stated, however, that the senator’s request is based only on press reports.
“The initial piece does not present sufficient minimum evidence of irregularity or illegality, as it is essentially based on journalistic materials, unaccompanied by documents capable of individualizing facts, identifying bidding procedures or specific contracts and delimiting possible responsibilities”, says an excerpt from the ruling published on May 26th.
The Court’s decision, however, tends not to influence the actions of the PF, which will be able to continue investigating the case.
