Emergency teams continue to assess the damage caused by the violent 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the southern Philippines.
Images shared on social media and the media show damaged buildings, affected infrastructure and several areas covered in debris, highlighting the scale of the impact of the earthquake.
According to information provided by authorities, the earthquake caused more than 30 deaths and around two hundred injuries. Search, assistance and damage assessment operations continue in several affected areas.
The earthquake also caused significant damage to roads, buildings and other essential structures, while authorities monitor the situation and provide support to affected populations.
