The PT launched this Tuesday (9) an initiative that seeks to form a group of “spokespeople” on social media. The objective is to boost the president’s re-election campaign and confront Bolsonarism, which will have the senator (-RJ) as a candidate for Planalto.
According to the Sheetthe idea is to standardize the speeches of activists and even PT supporters. The party wants Lula’s supporters to be able to quickly respond to Bolsonarism on digital platforms, mainly on WhatsApp.
In recent times, responsiveness on social media has become one of the main points of concern for the left, which sees the right, with names like the federal deputy (PL-MG), spreading narratives with greater success.
Furthermore, better communication to make government deliveries reach the population is a demand transmitted to Lula and ministers since the beginning of his current term.
The launch of “Lula’s Spokespersons”, in Brasília, was attended by the president of , Edinho Silva, ministers and PT parliamentarians and allies from other parties, such as federal deputies André Janones (Avante-MG), (-SP), Pedro Campos (-PE) and Jandira Feghali (PC do B-RJ).
The PT took advantage of the proximity to the World Cup, which starts this Thursday (11), to try to promote the motto “Play for Brazil”. A jingle was shown with the lyrics: “I want to see you play for Brazil […] The fans shout: ‘Lula is my player’.”
The minister of the General Secretariat, (PSOL), and others present also wore a similar blouse inspired by the Brazilian football team, with the colors green and yellow and on which it is written: “Pix is from Brazil” and “Play for Brazil”.
The idea is to make it appear that Flávio Bolsonaro is acting against the country’s interests – a claim that the government has been trying to stick to the senator since the US announced a new tariff proposal days after his visit to President Donald Trump.
The use of the football team’s uniform has become associated in recent years with Bolsonarism and there has already been a campaign on the left to try to “rescue” the shirt.
Without mentioning Flávio, Boulos stated that Lula’s opponent “has no biography, he has a track record”, in a reference to the “Dark Horse” scandal, which revealed that the PL candidate asked the owner of , , for money to finance a film about the former president (PL).
“Digital networks: this is the point where they are still ahead of us. We need to be humble enough to recognize this. Often in network clashes they have won and the question is: why? Is it the algorithm? Big techs? Do they have more money? All of this is true, but there is one thing that sometimes we don’t talk about, which is the digital organization. They organize themselves”, said the minister.
The PT describes “Lula’s Spokesperson” as a “digital militancy organization”. It will be up to whoever takes part in the initiative to share the government’s achievements and defend the president in the face of his opponents.
In addition to supporters, politicians, digital influencers and representatives of social movements will participate in the initiative.
On social media, ministers, such as (Institutional Relations), government leaders in Congress, such as congressman Paulo Pimenta (PT-RS), and important allies of Lula, such as the former Minister of the Environment, (Rede-SP), have already published videos in which they call for membership.
Registration for those interested in participating is done through a link that is already being distributed on social media. After signing up, the person can be included in a WhatsApp community and receive a “first mission: to call more and more people”.
