Romania’s election winners are having difficulty forming a government

The latest attempt to form a Romanian government could fail. The conservative PNL decided unanimously on Thursday not to agree to a government under Eugen Tomac. This was announced by acting Prime Minister and Chairman of the PNL, Ilie Bolojan. The decision is a major setback for Tomac’s efforts to gain a parliamentary majority for a technocratic cabinet. President Nicușor Dan nominated MEP Eugen Tomac as prime minister on June 4th.
