
The incentive to purchase electric cars and discard old ones came into force this Thursday. This has a global allocation of 10 million euros.
The application period runs from June 11th to July 27th or until the available funds are exhausted. Individuals will be entitled to R$4,000 when purchasing new fully electric vehicles worth up to R$38,500 (or R$55,000 for more than five seats).
“The support is intended to encourage the transition to a more sustainable mobilitythrough the replacement of vehicles with combustion engines by vehicles with zero emissions”, highlights the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
According to , the allocation of 1375 incentives in this target audience, for a total of 5.5 million euros.
The support also provides for the attribution of 100 incentives to IPSSwhich will be supported by five thousand euros when purchasing vehicles up to 38,500 euros (or 55 thousand euros for more than five seats), for a total of 500 thousand euros.
It is also intended for the purchase of bicycles (charging, with or without electrical assistance, and electrical and conventional). The amount of support varies between 500 and 1500 euroswhile electric motorcycles, mopeds, tricycles and quadricycles can receive an incentive of up to a maximum of 1500 euros.
The new regulation will maintain retroactivity to January 2025. All those who purchased an electric car and gave an old car for scrapping since the beginning of last year, having been left out of support due to running out of funds, will be able to apply and try to receive encouragement at this stage.
“Vehicles purchased since January 1, 2025 are eligible for support, allowing anyone who has purchased a zero-emission vehicle since that date and who has not been covered by previous phases of the program to now submit an application, as long as it meets the criteria defined in the regulation”, explains the ministry.
Registration can be done through the Environmental Fund. The analysis will be carried out in order of submission and up to the limit of available funding.
