World Cup: Brazil lost its last games against Africans – 06/13/2026 – Sport

The Brazilian team has a largely favorable record in World Cups, but was defeated in the last clashes against Africans, raising the alarm for the match against Morocco this Saturday (13th), at 7pm, in the opening of Group C, at the New York/New Jersey stadium, in the USA.

In total, there were eight World Cup games against African teams, with seven Brazilian victories, one defeat, 20 goals scored and only three conceded.

Brazil had an unbeaten record of 48 years until 2022, when they were defeated by Cameroon 1-0 in Qatar.

Morocco faced the Brazilian team only once in the World Cup and was beaten 3-0, in France, in 1998. Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Bebeto scored the goals in the 1st phase match.

That was the first of Ronaldo’s 15 World Cup goals. He is the second highest scorer of all time in World Cups, behind German Miroslav Klose, with 16.

In the history of the confrontation, Brazil and Morocco faced each other twice, in friendlies.

In 1997, in a preparatory game for the French Cup, the Brazilian team won 2-0, in Belém (Pará), with two goals from Denílson.

The last match between the two teams took place in 2023, in Tangier (Morocco), with the home team winning 2-1.

It was Brazil’s first match after elimination from the 2022 World Cup, with Ramon Menezes as coach beginning the cycle of changes that culminated in the hiring of Italian Carlo Ancelotti.

From Brazil’s current squad, four players started this match: Ibañez, Casemiro (scorer of the Brazilian goal), Lucas Paquetá and Vini Jr.
