A senior Iranian official has told the Reuters news agency that the draft agreement with the United States covers issues ranging from Tehran’s nuclear program to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and US exemptions from oil sanctions. The final agreement would be negotiated during the 60 days following the approval of this initial draft by both parties.

– The United States pledges not to impose new sanctions on Iran until a final agreement is reached.

– Washington will grant temporary waivers to sanctions on Iranian oil, allowing Tehran to sell crude and receive revenue.

– The United States will release $25 billion in frozen Iranian assets through direct cash transfers, regional cooperation and financial lines of credit.

– Tehran undertakes not to produce or acquire nuclear weapons.

– Iran will maintain the nuclear status quo until a final agreement is reached, including not enriching uranium or expanding its nuclear facilities.

– The United States accepts that Iran dilute its reserves of highly enriched uranium within the country, with a mechanism that will be defined in the next 60 days.
