Opponent of the former councilor of Rio de Janeiro (), senator Esperidião Amin (-SC) should use the motto “from Santa Catarina to Santa Catarina” to oppose the newcomer.
The senator does not intend to attack Carlos directly, but rather to reinforce the message that Santa Catarina voters deserve to be represented by a Santa Catarina native, and not by an outsider.
“I belong to Santa Catarina. That’s why I’m a pre-candidate for senator of Santa Catarina, for Santa Catarina and for Santa Catarina,” Amin said in an interview with Grupo ND in February, after Bolsonaro’s decision.
Amin ended up being left out of the ticket of governor Jorginho Mello (PL), who is seeking re-election, after former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and the federal deputy (PL-SC) for the Senate.
