Statement was made after the former governor criticized senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) for his proximity to Daniel Vorcaro
The former federal deputy (PL-SP) defended this Saturday (June 13, 2026) the break between the Bolsonarist group and the Novo Party after criticism from the former governor of Minas Gerais and pre-candidate for the Presidency (Novo-MG) to the senator and also pre-candidate for Palácio do Planalto (PL-RJ).
The reaction was motivated by an interview given by Zema to the Brasil Paralelo portal. During the conversation, the former governor commented on news involving Flávio and businessman Daniel Vorcaro, owner of the former Banco Master, and stated that people who are close to those being investigated or accused of irregularities should be observed with caution.
Eduardo responded on social media and said that Zema “criticizes” the senator for political interests. According to him, the former governor would be dissatisfied with not occupying the prominent space conquered by Flávio within the right-wing camp.
“He criticizes Flávio just because he wanted to be in his place. For me, he would break with the Novo Party“, he wrote.
POLITICAL WEAR
The statement increases the tension between allies of Jair Bolsonaro and Zema, who until recently was pointed out by members of the former president’s environment as one of the most popular names to form a possible presidential ticket headed by Flávio in 2026.
In recent days, however, Eduardo began to publicly defend the federal deputy (PL-SC) for the position of vice president. In different publications on social media, he praised the deputy’s performance in Congress and highlighted her loyalty to the Bolsonarist group.

On Friday (June 12), Eduardo once again compared the two names by stating that he prefers criteria linked to political loyalty rather than a candidate’s electoral potential. The statement was interpreted as a new indirect criticism of Zema, whose name lost strength among the former president’s allies after recent friction with members of the Bolsonaro family.
The episode highlights the increase in tensions between right-wing leaders amid the articulations for the 2026 presidential race and the definition of possible alliances for the formation of a ticket.
O Poder360 contacted presidential candidate Romeu Zema (Novo-MG) to comment on Eduardo Bolsonaro’s statement and received no response until the publication of this report.
