Briton Lewis Hamilton won his first victory for Ferrari this Sunday (14), at the Barcelona-Catalunya Formula 1 Grand Prix, ending the streak of five consecutive victories of championship leader Kimi Antonelli, from Mercedes, and becoming, at 41 years old, the oldest driver to win a race since Australian Jack Brabham in 1970.
The seven-time world champion’s first victory since Belgium in 2024, the triumph in Barcelona was his seventh victory on this circuit and the 106th of his career.
Italian Antonelli, the 19-year-old championship leader, abandoned the stage with five laps to go and saw his lead over Hamilton drop to 41 points. The podium was entirely British: George Russell, from Mercedes, finished second, and Lando Norris, from McLaren, third.
Three-time champion Brabham, who died in 2014, was 43 years and 11 months old when he won his last victory in F1, in South Africa.
Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, from Audi, finished the race in 11th place.
