The Israeli army called on residents of several villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate before planned attacks. At the same time, she reported on the intervention of two drones in the north of Israel.
On Sunday, the Israeli army issued a warning to evacuate 29 villages in southern Lebanon, where it is preparing to attack. In addition, it said that northern Israel was hit by two drones, likely fired by the Lebanese militant movement Hezbollah. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.
Army spokesman Avichaj Adrai issued two warnings – the first for 13 villages and the second for another 16, the latter including villages north of the Zahrání River.
Drones hit northern Israel
Even before these calls for evacuation, the army reported two drones that hit northern Israel near the border with Lebanon on Sunday. According to the military, there were no casualties.
Israeli far-right ministers Becalel Smotrič and Itamar Ben Gvir called for retaliatory strikes on the stronghold of the Hezbollah movement in the Beirut suburb of Dahiya after the aforementioned attacks.
Statements by Israeli ministers
“Shooting on northern communities is a test of the Dahija doctrine, which was announced by the Prime Minister (Benjamin Netanyahu). I call on him for its decisive and firm implementation and for the destruction of buildings in Dahija,” Finance Minister Smotrič said on X.
“For every drone – a missile. For every violation – fire. For every unmanned vehicle – Dahiya must tremble. For every hair on the head of a soldier of the Israeli armed forces – a thousand Hezbollah terrorists,” wrote the Minister of National Security Ben Gvir.
Israeli officials, including the prime minister, have repeatedly warned that Israel will strike Dahiya if Hezbollah attacks Israeli communities in the north.
