Russia recognizes Brazil as free from foot-and-mouth disease

Measure was formalized during a government trip to the country; Ministry of Agriculture says it is “advancement for the health and commercial agenda of agribusiness”

On Wednesday (June 10, 2026), Russia recognized Brazil as free of foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination. The measure was formalized during the Ministry of Agriculture’s trip to the country. According to the government, the decision represents yet another advance for the health and commercial agenda of Brazilian agribusiness”.

“The measure also opens up space for advances in new product categories and possible increases in trade flows”says the ministry.
