The police charged a 36-year-old man who attacked a woman in Poprad with a hammer and a hunting knife. The regional police spokeswoman from Prešov, Jana Ligdayová, informed that the attack took place on Saturday (June 13).
- A thirty-six-year-old man attacked an equally old woman in Poprad.
- The attack was preceded by an argument in the place of common residence in the early morning.
- The attacker hit the woman in the forehead and then in the shoulder with a hammer.
- Then he stabbed her in the back and thigh with a hunting knife.
- The police arrested the man and charged him with attempted bodily harm.
“This man from Poprad attacked an equally old woman in the early hours of the morning at his place of residence. The conflict was preceded by an argument. He first hit her on the forehead with a hammer, then on the shoulder. Finally, he stabbed the woman in the back and thigh with a hunting knife“, Ligday explained the incident, saying that the attacked woman suffered multiple injuries.
The police patrol restricted the 36-year-old man’s personal freedom, and he subsequently ended up in a police custody cell. An authorized member of the Regional Department of the Police Force in Poprad accused him of the criminal offense of bodily harm in the attempt stage.
