Eight crew members are believed dead after the crash on Monday of a B-52 bomber at Edwards Air Force Base in California, CNN reported, citing the base.
The B-52 Stratofortress bomber suffered an accident shortly after taking off from the Air Base, according to a military statement.
“A United States Air Force B-52 Stratofortress suffered an accident at 11:20 am (local time), shortly after taking off from Edwards,” the base said on social media.
Emergency teams were mobilized immediately and “the incident remains ongoing”, indicates the base. “More information will be provided as it becomes available,” he added.
