André Ventura, president of Chega
André Ventura once again defended the lowering of the retirement age and the replacement of vacation days, but says that if there was “total incompatibility” there would be no more meetings.
The leader of Chega confirmed that there will be, this Tuesday, a final meeting regarding labor law between the leaders of Chega and PSD. As such, he believes that it is possible to reach “a common point“, but again warned that there are certain issues and elements that the party will not give up on.
Ventura also did not commit to voting against if the government does not accept the lower retirement age and the replacement of 25 vacation days. This intends for there to be a “written commitment” and that, for this, there is a public calendar in which the Government assumes that Chega’s proposal will be implemented by the end of the legislature.
According to , when asked whether the non-existence of this understanding will result in a vote against Chega, André Ventura did not commit, he only stated that it is “a central question” and a “decisive element” for the vote. An abstention from Chega is enough to pass the proposal.
Another of Chega’s central points has to do with vacation days, with the party defending the replacement of 25 days as “the new legal basis”. Ventura assured that he had the opportunity to convey to the prime minister that “ Chega does not accept the restricted vacation regime”.
Chega will also demand that an amendment be approved to guarantee that public employees have the same regime as private employees, ensuring that there is no mismatch in the two markets. In addition, the party also introduces a license so that grandparents can supplement their parents’ needs, with 120 days for each grandchild until the child is six years old.
With regards to the outsourcingChega intends to ban “unfounded dismissals that lead to the use of the regime as a way of replacing available people” and, with regard to the time bank, he understands that this should “always be by agreement, and never unilaterally”.
Ventura also said he had “opening of the PSD” to “end definitively” with lifetime grants.
