Horror in Košice: A prisoner set fire to his cell, rescuers intervened on the spot and reported people poisoned by fumes!

Rescuers intervene in the prison in Košice-Šac. The spokeswoman for the Operations Center of the Emergency Medical Service (OS ZZS) of the Slovak Republic, Petra Klimešová, confirmed for TASR that two ambulances of the emergency medical service intervene on the spot and the intervention is still ongoing. She did not provide further information on the number of injured or the extent of injuries. TV JOJ drew attention to the case, according to which a fire broke out at the site on Saturday morning and six people were supposed to have inhaled the combustion fumes.

According to television, the fire broke out in a ward intended for prisoners with special treatment and damaged one cell. The incident was said to have started when one of the prisoners set fire to a towel, with the flames then spreading to the mattresses in the cell. Paramedics, police and firefighters were sent to the scene.
