One dead in hotel fire in Dominican Republic


A woman has died in a major fire at a hotel in the Dominican Republic. In addition, almost 1,700 tourists were brought to safety from the facility in the southeast of the Caribbean country, the local authorities announced on Friday (local time). According to authorities, the fatality was a 46-year-old Italian woman. The fire broke out at the Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach Hotel in the coastal town of Bayahibe.
