The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terechov, said early Saturday morning that a woman was trapped under the rubble after a residential zone was hit by a guided aerial bomb. “Unfortunately, during search and rescue operations, the body of a deceased person was found under the rubble of the destroyed building,” Terechov said in an update on the Telegram platform.
The attack on Kharkiv’s Kholodnohirsky district injured nine people, five of whom had to be hospitalized, Oleh Synehubov, the head of the regional military administration there, informed.
Injuries in Kherson
Authorities in the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine also reported that a 72-year-old woman was injured in the village of Zelenivka after being hit by a Russian drone. According to official information, three other people were also injured in the Korabelny district of Kherson during drone attacks.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Saturday morning that its air defenses shot down 187 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the entire territory of the country overnight. The latest wave of attacks comes two days after Ukraine launched its largest daytime attack on Moscow to date. It caused fires, hit an important oil refinery and forced the evacuation of the country’s largest airport, AFP reports.
