The music scene is mourning. As reported by the portal, Slovakian singer and bass guitarist Michal Janík died unexpectedly at the age of 32. He was the frontman of the Old Hämmer band for many years and the founder of the Výstraha band. On Friday, the police announced a search for him. The musician was found late.
His death was reported by the band Výstraha from Trenčín. “Today the worst news has hit us. It is with immense sadness and pain in our hearts that we have to inform you that our singer and brother has left us forever. It is extremely difficult to find words when one of us is missing. He was a part of us all, a voice that gave strength and energy to our words. Above all, however, we lost a friend with whom we stood back to back. Thank you for everything you put into our music and for all the moments we spent together. Your voice stays here with us in every riff, every strum on the bass guitar, the beat of the drums and the harsh tone of the guitars. Rest in peace. We will never forget” it is written in a post on Facebook.
Janík was also the frontman of the aforementioned band Old Hämmer, with whom he played at the Pohoda festival. “Unfortunately, the singer and bassist of our brother band Old Hämmer left us forever. The loss of Miša, who shared the stage with us at our first concert in Bratislava’s Fuga, touched us deeply. Our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and friends. Miša, may the earth be easy for you,” mourns the group from Bratislava Cmÿter.
