A RAID that Slovakia does not remember: ÚBOK detained 10 people as part of a police action! Tons of drugs passed through the gang’s hands

Over the weekend, the Office for the Fight against Organized Crime (ÚBOK) carried out a large-scale Urus police operation aimed at a criminal group suspected of large-scale drug-related criminal activity with an international dimension. As part of the action, he detained ten people and charged nine. The police reported about it on the social network.

More than 170 police officers from the units of the Office of Combating Organized Crime of the Presidium of the Police, emergency police units of regional directorates and other specialized units of the Police were deployed in the police operation.

“The implementation took place simultaneously in several places in the Slovak Republic. During it, police officers conducted six house searches and one search of other premises. At the same time, ten persons were detained, including nine citizens of the Slovak Republic and one citizen of the United Kingdom“, the policemen zoomed in.

Based on the evidence secured so far, nine citizens of the Slovak Republic were charged with the crime of founding, organizing and supporting a criminal group, as well as with the particularly serious crime of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

According to the results of the investigation so far, the criminal group should have been active at least since the first half of 2025. “Its members created a sophisticated way of functioning with precisely divided tasks, used conspiratorial methods of communication, a secure logistical background and an extensive international network of contacts. Their activities covered the territory of the Slovak Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, as well as other European countries,” the police specified.

The results of the investigation show extensive trafficking in cocaine, ketamine, MDMA, hashish and ecstasy tablets, while the total volume of transported and distributed narcotic and psychotropic substances exceeded several tons according to findings so far.

Most of the shipments were destined for the territory of the United Kingdom, where the drugs were distributed through an elaborate logistics system. A significant part of drugs, especially cocaine, was also imported to the territory of the Slovak Republic, from where it was directed to other customers. At the same time, several international transports of narcotic and psychotropic substances were documented, for which the members of the criminal group received financial benefits in the hundreds of thousands of euros.

The extent and quality of the evidence secured led to the fact that some individuals decided to cooperate with law enforcement immediately after the implementation. “The information provided already brings new knowledge, which significantly contributes to uncovering other areas of criminal activity of the criminal group and the identification of other persons involved in its activities,” the police said.

During the police action, items indicating the possible commission of another serious criminal activity, especially of a violent nature, were seized, the verification of which is currently the subject of further investigation.

“Not all persons suspected of participation in the activities of a criminal group were detained. The police are intensively searching for other members of the group and are taking other measures aimed at tracking them down and arresting them.” clarified the police.

The importance of the case exceeded the borders of the Slovak Republic. According to the police, the European police agency Europol, based in The Hague, showed a special interest in the implementation of the Urus police action and requested the opportunity to be present during the implementation of the actions. “The investigation of the case continues intensively. We will continuously inform the public about its further development and new facts,” added the police officers.
