The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will participate next Tuesday (23), in the inauguration of the first stage of the new Serra das Araras, located on Rodovia Presidente Dutra (BR-116). The project focuses on expanding capacity and safety, with an investment of R$1.5 billion.
Via Dutra is one of the main logistics corridors in the country, being the main road connection between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
There are 390 thousand vehicles circulating monthly, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The new Serra das Araras has already reached 70% completion.
The works across the entire concession, covering 626 km, are supported by R$10.7 billion from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
