Leaders from different countries and authorities reacted to those who hit Venezuela on Wednesday (June 24, 2026) and. The official report does not yet include possible victims in La Guaira, a coastal state neighboring Caracas and identified by the Venezuelan government as the region most affected by the tremors.
The president of Brazil, (PT), received the news “with great concern and consternation”. He stated that he instructed the MRE (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to evaluate with the Brazilian Embassy in Caracas the situation in the country and the assistance measures that the Brazilian government could adopt. “I reaffirm our determination to support the government of the president in charge [PSUV, esquerda] in the recovery of affected areas of this sister country”declared in X.
The Venezuelan opposition leader, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, said that her prayers are with the affected families. “My heart, my infinite hug and my prayers are with every Venezuelan home in these hours of anguish”he declared. She stated that she hoped that “strength, serenity and solidarity” prevail in the country.
The President of the United States, (Republican Party), told Truth Social that the 2 earthquakes were “massive in scale” and left “a devastating number of deaths”. The USA, according to him, “are ready, willing and able” to help. “I have instructed all agencies of our government to prepare to act quickly”he said, highlighting that the first reports “they are not good”.
The former president of Venezuela, , published a message of solidarity. In a text attributed to him and Cilia Flores, who both pray for the affected families, the injured and all of Venezuela. “Today the word is one: maximum union, maximum solidarity and maximum action”he declared. He asked for serenity, support for rescue teams, doctors, firefighters and volunteers, as well as protection for children, the elderly and sick people.
The president of Argentina, (La Libertad Avanza, right), expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan population and said that his government is following developments in the situation. In an official statement, the Argentine Presidency stated that it was willing to collaborate with humanitarian assistance, in coordination with international organizations. “In addition to the differences that may exist between our governments, President Javier G. Milei extends his hand of solidarity to the Venezuelan people in the face of a natural catastrophe that demands a reaction from the entire international community”says the text.
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum (Morena, left), said that the country’s Foreign Affairs Secretariat has contacted the Venezuelan government. “I have already instructed the preparation of the necessary aid. For now, we have been asked for support with specialized rescue and health personnel. Mexico is always and will be supportive”.
The president of Ecuador, (Ação Democrática Nacional, right), has ordered the immediate sending of humanitarian aid to Venezuela. “Despite enormous differences, humanity must always guide the actions of a representative”these.
The president of Panama, (Accomplishing Goals, right), also supports it. “Our greatest solidarity and support for Venezuela due to the earthquake and its consequences”he declared. He stated that Panama offers humanitarian aid to the country.
The president of Chile, (Republican Party, right), who makes himself available to the Venezuelan government to coordinate the sending of humanitarian aid and collaborate with rescue teams. “Chile and Venezuela united to face this tragedy”he declared.
The president of El Salvador, (Nuevas Ideas, right), that his government offered help to Venezuela through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to him, 300 rescuers and paramedics, in addition to 50 tons of equipment, medicines and essential supplies, are ready to leave for Caracas.
The president of Costa Rica, (Partido Pueblo Soberano, center-right), that the country “embraces the Venezuelan population with our hearts in this hour of pain”.
The Prime Minister of India, (BJP, right), is “deeply saddened” by the destruction caused by earthquakes. “On behalf of the people of India, I offer our condolences to the government and people of Venezuela, especially to the families who have lost their loved ones”he declared. Modi said India was ready to offer assistance.
The Prime Minister of Spain, (Psoe, left), supports Venezuela. “All my support and that of Spain to the Venezuelan population after tonight’s devastating earthquakes”he said. He said his thoughts are with the victims and their families.
The President of France, (Renaissance, center), that his “thoughts” are with Venezuela. “I extend all my solidarity to the victims, their loved ones and those mobilized on the ground”he declared.
(Popular Force, right), that the president of Peru, after gaining an irreversible lead in the 2nd round of the country’s presidential elections, also said. “I want to express my solidarity with the entire Venezuelan population after the strong earthquakes recorded today”he declared. Keiko said her heart goes out to the families passing through “moments of anguish and uncertainty” and with members of the rescue teams.
The earthquakes had magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 and hit the central region of Venezuela less than 1 minute apart. According to Delcy Rodríguez, more than 700 injured people were treated in public hospitals and private health centers. She also announced the suspension of classes and non-essential public service activities.
Delcy said that La Guaira had “dozens of collapsed buildings” and classified the State as “disaster zone”. “We are currently in very difficult rescue work to save the lives that God allows us to save. It is a true tragedy”he declared.
