In a moment of great emotion amidst the destruction, a baby was rescued alive from the rubble of a building in Venezuela, following the two strong earthquakes that hit the country.
The images, shared on social media, show the rescue at night, shortly after the earthquakes. The baby, who appears to be around a year old, is pulled from the wreckage by several people, before being handed over to emergency teams.
During the rescue, it is possible to hear the child crying, who, despite the surrounding scenery, appears not to have suffered serious injuries. The moment has been described by many users as a true “miracle”, in a context marked by great destruction and panic.
