Pre-candidate for the government of Ceará is a pivot of friction because of the state PL’s alliance with his candidacy
The pre-candidate for the Government of Ceará (PSDB), said on Thursday (June 25, 2026) that he did not watch and does not intend to watch the video in which former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) for the senator (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for Planalto.
Ciro is one of the pivots of the internal crisis in the PL because the discussion between Michelle and Flávio began precisely because of the Ceará party’s alliance with his pre-candidacy. “I swear I didn’t see the video. And I won’t see it”said Ciro when questioned by journalists at PEC Brasil, an agribusiness event held in Fortaleza. “This is a national PL issue and involves much more complex things than our parish here”he declared.
The former first lady published videos on social media on Wednesday (June 24) in which she exposed friction with Flávio. She said that the two have not spoken since the end of 2025, after a call in which, according to Michelle, the senator stated that she should stay out of the party’s decisions and that she did not understand politics.
The episode cited by Michelle originated in a political event in Ceará, in November 2025. At the time, she brought the state PL closer to Ciro, articulated by the president of the party in the state, the deputy (PL-CE). The former first lady defends the candidacy of the senator (Novo-CE) for the government of Ceará and states that any support for Ciro should only occur in a 2nd round.
Michelle also recalled Ciro’s old statements against the former president (PL) and his children. In the video, she said that the PL’s alliance with the former governor would mean supporting “the man who called him, his mother and his brothers corrupt and the eggs of Nazi snakes”. The PL made its support for Ciro’s pre-candidacy official in May.
When commenting on the case, Ciro sought to distance himself from the PL’s internal dispute. He said that his national performance was left behind and stated that national politics has its own dynamics.
“If we are going to recover my participation in national politics, it is extremely embarrassing for 2 poles. So, it is not possible for me to deal with this issue. Therefore, I only respect the problem of the PL. The PL will solve it from there”he declared.

Flávio Bolsonaro responded to Michelle. The senator apologized if he had hurt her. Also that “divergence of strategy is not divergence of principles” and said he was fulfilling a mission designated by Jair Bolsonaro.
The senator also stated that he had tried to include Michelle in a meeting with conservative female leaders, organized with the senator (Republicanos-DF). According to Flávio, the invitation to the former first lady “Stand by”.
