The Norwegian team leads the group after an overwhelming debut. In the first round, the team took no notice of Iraq and scored a 4-1 defeat. The highlight of the match, as expected, was the star Erling Haaland, who found the net in the 43rd minute of the first half to break the tie, in addition to goals from Leo Østigård and an own goal from the Iraqis that sealed the elastic score. With this result, the Scandinavians have 3 points and are at the top of the table based on goal difference.

Les Bleus also started their journey to the World Cup on the right foot and confirmed their favoritism, just behind Norway in the standings. France debuted against a strong Senegal team and achieved a solid 3-1 victory at the MetLife Stadium. The triumph guaranteed the French the same 3 points in the table, occupying second place in the group due to goal difference.
