A Petrobras informed this Monday (29) that it renewed the record production in the Búzios fieldin the Santos Basin pre-salt, reaching an average daily production of 1.2 million barrels of oil per day (bpd). The announcement comes three days after the company announced the 1.1 million milestone.
In a note, the company reported that the “new record was achieved with the expansion of activities on platforms P-78 and P-79which are in the process of developing production to reach maximum capacity (ramp up), of 180 thousand bpd per day each”.
The Búzios field, the largest in deep waters in the world, has eight production units in operation, in addition to the floating platforms (FPSOs) Almirante Barroso and Almirante Tamandaré, the largest in nominal production capacity in the country with 225 thousand barrels/day, extended to up to 270 thousand barrels per day.
In total, 12 FPSOs will operate in the field. FPSOs P-80, P-82 and P-83 are still under construction; and, in bidding, the Búzios 12 unit.
