Verdelago Resort, located in Altura, in the municipality of Castro Marim, was awarded the “Best Hotel Resort” award at the Portugal Travel Awards by Publituris 2026, one of the main recognition initiatives for the national tourism industry.
The distinction reinforces the positioning of the Algarve development as a reference in the sector, recognizing a project that, with just three years of operation, has already established itself for the quality of the experience provided to guests, for its connection to the territory and for a long-term vision for tourism.
Award values experience, sustainability and territory
According to Verdelago Resort, the award recognizes “the quality of the experience provided to guests, as well as the enterprise’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and appreciation of the territory.”
The development has been consolidating a differentiated proposal, based on proximity to nature, well-being and a balanced relationship between tourist development and environmental preservation. The distinction comes at a time when travelers are looking for more genuine and sustainable experiences, valuing projects capable of combining hospitality, comfort and authenticity.
The Portugal Travel Awards by Publituris annually distinguish companies, enterprises, destinations and professionals that stand out for their contribution to the development of national tourism. The 2026 edition brought together 184 nominees, distributed across 22 categories, reflecting the diversity and competitiveness of tourism in Portugal.
