The president (PT) spoke this Tuesday (June 30, 2026) at the summit of Mercosurheld in Asunción, Paraguay. During his speech, Lula asked for 1 minute of silence for the victims of the earthquakes in Venezuela, defended regional integration, stated that Mercosur seeks to advance a trade agreement with China and announced a contribution of US$ 100 million to Focem (Mercosur Structural Convergence Fund).
