The “Segredos da Infância” project wants to create more quality time between parents and children through play, nature and educational experiences.
Created by early childhood education teacher Mariana, 28 years old, resident of the municipality of Castro Marim, the project was born from the desire to complement the educational practice developed by the professional and respond to an increasingly present reality: the difficulty of many families in finding time to share meaningful moments with their children.

The project provides a set of pedagogical experiences designed to promote child development, strengthen family bonds and value playing as an essential learning tool.
Workshops, sensory sessions and early childhood activities
Currently, “Segredos da Infância” develops its activity in its own space, where it organizes art workshops for babies, sensory sessions, psychomotor activities, themed parties, birthdays and other proposals aimed at early childhood.
All activities are designed based on pedagogical principles that prioritize creativity, autonomy, exploration and the active participation of families.

One of the most popular initiatives has been the “Playdate in Nature with Educadora Mariana”, held on Sunday mornings. The meeting takes place in a natural space prepared to encourage free play and contact with the environment.
In this context, children can explore a mud kitchen, interact with animals, experiment with different materials and participate in sensory activities, always accompanied by their family members.
Project wants to reach more children and families
“Segredos da Infância” has brought together families not only from the municipality of Castro Marim, but also from various parts of the Algarve and Alentejo, demonstrating a growing demand for experiences that promote childhood in a natural context and strengthen the relationship between parents and children.
For Mariana, creator of the project, “childhood needs time, presence and opportunities to play. The objective of ‘Segredos da Infância’ is to provide families with moments in which they can slow down, create memories and live meaningful experiences together.”

In the coming months, the project intends to expand the range of activities and expand the intervention to other locations in the municipality of Castro Marim, with the aim of reaching an increasing number of children and families.
The ambition is to affirm “” as a regional reference in promoting child and family well-being, through educational proposals based on play, nature and family participation.
