Until July 19, you can also visit Becomingtwelve installations spread over the Sala de Turbines de Les Tres Xemeneies that invite you to reflect on various problems of a planet in transition.
A museum outside the museum

A total of 40 works from across Catalonia and find refuge in a pastry shop, a market, a dentist’s waiting room and even an Urban Police station. The latter happens in Tarragona, where a work by Ana Muller and one by Gordon Matta-Clark is exhibited in collaboration with Mèdol, the contemporary arts center, which now has La forma de lo ocurrido, an exhibition by Laura Juanós that explores the boundary between architecture and sculpture (until 23/08). And in neighboring Reus, the sculptor Salvador Juanpere invites us to Forget Gaudí from (until 15/09).
Miquel Barceló Engravings from Barcelona
Artur Ramon Gallery. Until October 7
In these pages we said that Barceló was a fertile conversationalist and that Gaudí would attest to this. Ironies of fate, the Mallorcan artist is one of the best placed to face the facade of the Glory of the Sagrada Familia. And although he doesn’t verbalize it, it is the dream commission to crown a career of total dedication to painting and ceramics. Also in engraving, a lesser-known facet that now unfolds in a multitude of techniques and motifs.
Minor White
KBr Mapfre Foundation. Until September 6
He may not have the name of other contemporaries, but he is one of the seminal looks of 20th century American photography thanks to his contemplative images, full of poetry and spirituality, and also his role as editor of Aperture magazine, which helped to consider photography as an art. Beyond White, Barcelona is also worth a visit changing states by Kapwani Kiwanga, at the Joan Miró Foundation (until 13/09); At Matisse at CaixaForum (until 16/08); at the CCCB (until 8/11), as well as Sincerelythe proposal of Patricia Esquivias to the Fabra i Coats, where an epistolary thread hatches in works that speak of memory and small everyday architecture (until 27/09).
Picabia, Mediterranean
Museum of Modern Art of Ceret. Until November 29
Francis Picabia (1879-1953) is the axis on which pivots one that immerses us in the avant-garde of the first third of the 20th century and in the special connection that the French painter forged with New York and Barcelona, where he was exiled during the First World War. In the Catalan capital he was one of the founders of the Dada magazine 391of which all the numbers are exposed. Picabia’s work is accompanied by that of artists from his circle such as Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, Marie Laurencin, Juliette Roche…
Meritxell is reborn
Sanctuary of Meritxell. Until December 31
This year, the Santuari de Meritxell – designed by Ricardo Bofill after the devastating fire of 1972 – turns half a century old, and celebrates with a photographic exhibition that links faith, architecture and community. As beloved as the sanctuary of Canillo is the legendary Ràdio Andorra, which comes back to life thanks to an immersive visit from the spectacular wave-making room of the historic building in Encamp.
Stories of drawings. Pilar Lanau
KhaOs Gallery. Until September 27
Tortoise artist Pilar Lanau likes to draw by becoming aware of her own body; that’s why his plastering is somatic, a recurring footprint in the works he presents at the KhaOs de l’Aldea gallery, an unexpected space in a land of rice paddies.
Anselm Kiefer
Center d’Art Hortensia Herrero. Until October 25
A baroque palace in Valencia houses the contemporary art collection of Hortensia Herrero, philanthropist and vice president of Mercadona. Among many others, you will see works by Olafur Eliasson, Cristina Iglesias, Juan Genovés, Peter Halley, El Anatsui and Anselm Kiefer, the German painter who also stars in the temporary exhibition with 11 material paintings of great emotional charge.
Postcard architecture. Arxiu Casa Planas
Toni Catany Foundation. Until September 27
Throughout his career, the photographer Josep Maria Planas (1924-2016) created and collected advertising materials that now allow us to trace the architecture of Majorcan leisure from the beginning of the 20th century until the tourist boom. Getting lost in the permanent exhibition of the photographer, who gives his name to this foundation located in Llucmajor (Mallorca), is the icing on the cake.
ARCO at the Sorigué Foundation

The title could not be more explicit: the new exhibition of the Lleida foundation shows a selection of works from its contemporary art fund that have been acquired at the prestigious Madrid fair and which includes names such as Pere Llobera, Tony Cragg, Patricia Gómez and Antoni Tàpies.
Cycle: 20 minutes on the margin
Bolit Until September 6
It has been studied that, on average, 20 minutes are spent visiting an exhibition. In this case, three times as many are needed, because this cycle unfolds in three exhibitions that occupy the three Girona spaces of Bòlit and that share a theme: what happens on the margins. In one of the three chapters, Joc de criatures, Rafel G. Bianchi alters the bodies of the children who appear in the paintings of Margit Kocsis (1941-1984), while the writer Irene Pujades proposes imaginary biographies of the Dutch artist.
