The national president of the Liberal Party, Valdemar Costa Neto, stated that former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro decided to leave PL Mulher to take care of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and said he naturally sees the expansion of differences within the party. The statements were released in a note this Tuesday, 30th, after a meeting between Valdemar and Michelle held in Brasília.
“The PL has grown a lot, and I understand that divergences are growing too. This is natural. We have many leaders in the party and, no matter how big the divergences are, what unites us is much greater”, says Valdemar’s note. “The internal indignation will not be greater than the collective indignation of seeing what this government does to our country: 80 million Brazilians in debt is unacceptable! Terrorist groups growing is unacceptable”, he continues.
The PL president continues: “Michelle is going through a difficult time, she feels closely the injustices and anguish that the greatest leader in the recent history of this country has been going through. Michelle did an excellent job leading PL Mulher, but, at this moment, she decided to leave the national presidency of PL Mulher because she made the choice to concentrate her activities on taking care of our president. We have to respect that decision.”
