The president of the Federal Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), complained about the pressure he has received regarding the processing of matters in the Senate and said that the proposal to end the 6×1 scale cannot serve the electoral calendar, during a speech in the Senate plenary, this Tuesday, 30.
At the time, Alcolumbre complained of being the target of “offenses” and criticized the branding of the National Congress as “the enemy of the people”, the theme of protests led by progressive forces last year. The 6×1 scale PEC has been stuck in the Senate for over a month and has not even been sent to the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ).
“I do not accept offenses, aggressions and attacks by those who once accused another authority, and who are now doing the same thing with the president of the Senate, and what they did last year with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, putting a stamp on Congress as an enemy of the people”, he stated. “We have information about who is planting this in society.”

At one point, Alcolumbre directly cited the PEC of the 6×1 scale. “In fact, I have a speech from an important authority in Brazil who said that the PEC on a 6×1 scale needs to be deliberated now before the election, because it will be used for the electoral calendar. Can that be? It can’t be done, I don’t think it can be”, he stated.
The statements occurred while Alcolumbre announced the postponement of the vote on the PEC for health agents, which also creates an impasse due to the fiscal impact of R$27.9 billion over ten years. “I didn’t take her off the agenda and I won’t take her off the agenda, even though I was attacked and attacked, often from all political sides in Brazil,” he said.
The president of the Senate said that “it would be more comfortable” to choose between the left and the right. “What I’m doing here, paying a huge price, including in the CPF, is trying to balance an absolutely divided country in the year of the election. This is a very arduous task. This is a dramatic task for me, because, as you can’t choose a side, in my condition, you are offended by both sides.”
