The president of the Liberal Party, Valdemar Costa Neto, said in a statement this Tuesday (30), that former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro is facing a difficult time. “Michelle is going through a difficult time, she feels closely the injustices and anguish that the greatest leader in the recent history of this country has been going through,” he wrote.
The statement was made shortly after Michelle announced that she would leave the presidency of PL Mulher after deciding to “take full care” of her family.
Valdemar also stated that the “Divergences” are natural. “The PL has grown too much, and I understand that divergences are growing too. This is natural”, he declared.
He further said that What unites the party is much greater than the differences and that it is necessary to respect Michelle’s decision to leave her position at the head of PL Mulher. “The internal indignation will not be greater than the collective indignation of seeing what this government does to our country”, he added.
Michelle x Flávio
The speech comes due to the exchange of barbs between Michelle and her stepson and senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). Last week, the former first lady said in a video that she was “humiliated” and “mistreated” by Flávio.
According to the former first lady, Flávio “stabbed” when defending deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE) who is president of the PL in Ceará. Fernandes declared support for the pre-candidate for the government of Ceará Ciro Gomes (PSDB) who, according to Michelle, called Flávio himself and his brothers corrupt and “eggs of Nazi snakes”.
She is against the PL supporting Ciro Gomes for the state government and wants councilor Priscila Costa (PL-CE) to be one of the party’s Senate candidates. Deputy André Fernandes said the day before that Michelle’s wish would not change the party’s decision in any way.
Flávio even apologized. He spoke out on the same day that Michelle’s video was posted, on June 24, and said that he “never mistreated or humiliated a woman” and that he did, “apologize.”
