Durigan says the government wants to create Desenrola for farmers

The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, stated this Tuesday (30) that the federal government wants to create a Desenrola so that agribusiness producers can renegotiate their debts acquired as a result of crop failure in recent years due to adverse weather conditions, especially in the southern region of Brazil.

According to him, the Executive’s economic team “doesn’t get tired” of debating the issue with Congress National in order to define the limits of the benefits that should be granted.

“There is indeed a desire and commitment from the government to reach a good conclusion and carry out a kind of development for farmers who are in difficulty. What we cannot admit, in the name of the financial system, looking at the situation of the banks as a whole and the fiscal situation of the country, is that we do a major renegotiation, including for those who don’t need it“, stated the minister, during an interview announcing the withdrawal of diesel subsidies.

Durigan removed the link between aid to producers and extra resources arising from taxation on oil exports from Brazil, Therefore, if the tax ends, the renegotiation would not be jeopardized. “In no way linked to the export tax”.
