Pensions: PEC for health agents would have a fiscal impact of R$27 billion

Updated estimates from the MPS (Ministry of Social Security) indicate that PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) 14/2021, which establishes special retirement for community health workers and agents fighting endemic diseases, would have a fiscal impact of R$27.9 billion over ten years.

The text was placed on the Senate voting agenda this Tuesday (30) by the president of the House, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP).

As shown by the Broadcast (Grupo Estado’s real-time news system), the economic team considers the PEC a “bomb agenda” and is working to prevent it from being voted on in two rounds.

According to the ministry, the impact over the next ten years is made up of a cost of R$17.6 billion for the RPPS (Personal Social Security Regime), which serves federal, state and municipal public servants, and R$10.3 billion for the RGPS (General Social Security Regime).

Considering the next 80 years, the financial insufficiency generated by the text exceeds R$54 billion, according to the ministry. Estimates already consider the reduction in income from social security systems and the anticipation of benefit payments.
